Has anyone fished Markeaton Park, Derby for Pike?

Well after a change in temp I thought it would be an ideal time to get back on the broads. I arrived to find a slightly mist covered broad and was full of anticipation, I rowed out to my normal starting bays and set my depth to allow my deadbaits to be placed hard on the bottom. Had my first trip on the broads of the Pike winter season on Fri.Sun very high and bright did not expect anything due to poor conditions, very bright and warm. However had a screaming run on deadbaits after 1 hour of putting them out . However Lost the fish.

hey, how r we all doing. Im a keen pike angler as im shore u all r. Ive only been pike fising a year and a half now n cant get anoth. I go with my best freind Dan he also is a keen pike angler, we went to derwant water this weekend just gone and had a few pike wich i thought was good as it was our first session there n we will be going back. Does anyone now ov any other good places to fish in the lakes and any tips for the waters they sajest :)

me and fisherboy25 were just pike fishing when we were out of deadbaits so we used some cheese from our sandwiches and put it on a hook and ten mins later we caught a small barbel and we are sure it is a babel because we identified it from a book and we seen more barbel in the river. are barbel suppost to be in ireland? if not what shud i do?

i am a very keen angler,
im nearly 14 and i work in a tackle shop,
my pb is 17lb & my 2nd pb is 16lb lol,

This 10lb pike has got me halfway to my aim of getting 10 doubles this year. . . Pike looked like they were about to spawn so might try and get some trout next week instead.
